The Dallas Cowboys are set to play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The Rams are defending Super Bowl champions but have yet to play like repeat winners. Matthew Stafford, Rams quarterback and Highland Park native, may be overconfident in his offensive line.
Stafford has been taking too long to locate his targets on the field, even throwing six interceptions during his first game of the season against Buffalo and another four during his second game against Atlanta.
Last season, Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp were a successful dynamic duo of the 2021 season. So that may pose difficulties for Dallas’ defense.
Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs are well known defensive players and have been beneficial players so far this season. Parsons sacked New York Giants QB Daniel Jones four times and Diggs caught a game winning interception.
Dallas’s defense was the team’s saving grace during the 2021 season. If you had them as your defense and special teams for fantasy football last year then your team may have had a good run. The big question though is whether or not they can take on the Rams in their own home.
Compared to starting quarterback Dak Prescott, backup Cooper Rush plays really well when given adequate time by his linemen and doesn’t seem to fall prey to pressure.
He has a strong arm and a great throw, but it’s not yet evident whether he has surpassed Prescott’s ability yet.
According to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, Prescott should been good to play during week 4. Head coach Mike McCarthy thinks that the team’s game at SoFi stadium could possibly be the earliest we see Prescott back on the field.
After suffering an injury to his right thumb, and undergoing surgery, Prescott just got his stitches removed on Sept. 26th. He still requires rehab so he can better grasp the football again.
ESPN’s matchup predictor indicates that the Cowboys only have a 29.8% chance to beat the Rams but only time will tell. Cowboys play the Rams this Sunday at 3:25 p.m. local time.
