Maybe or maybe not is the silent question. Who is keeping score? Will we get a chance to vote again after this election? Has hip-hop lost its punch?
The next 50 yrs of hip-hop might not matter if we are not a democracy. Yes, it is up in the air as time has change but not Mr. Make America Again has not. The guy that was a sore loser chose to play a corny joke on the United States of America and the world. After hip-hop took its belt off and reminded him not to ever forget who made you cool. The joke was so funny that all those who support law enforcement lost several of their loved ones.
If we recall, several officers died and many were injured. Yes, he deserves a crown as the king of wack jokes. As the country, we face a reality plunging our integrity down the drain as the leaders of democracy.
What will we do, Gen Z? Will we let someone we do not trust change the face of our democracy? You will have to ask yourself, “Is this guy really a statesman type of guy?”
There is a beautiful side to this story. It’s truly Gen Z’s future, and Gen Z, you can change this. Your record numbers of voting last election has created a shift. The young world of hip-hop has woken up. Young hip-hop, you cannot just do it one time. This is a lifetime fight to insure we are the leaders of democracy and stay the leaders of democracy.
Oddly, in a time of need for the election, the most influential legends may be up for discrediting. What a perfect state and time for hip-hop to be a mess.
Could this be intentional or by accident? Will hip-hop do it again? Will Dallas College students, who are a part of hip-hop, do their part in being a voice of democracy for those who don’t respect the vote? No more dirty little jokes this round. Stand up Gen Z and make your presence known. Be the reason the loser will accept defeat.
