“Free, free, free Palestine!” Student voices echoed through the Dallas College Richland Campus May 2 as Palestinian supporters gathered to protest. The Muslim Student Association began above El Paso Hall in the breezeway, but the large group of protesters, estimated by Malak Elkady to be about 25 students, traveled around campus in order to spread the message. In El Paso Hall’s Student Lounge, there was a recent celebration for World Hijab Day at the first concert cafe of the spring semester. The event was hosted on Feb. 7 by the Muslim Student Association, or MSA, to celebrate the Muslim holiday. Dallas College Richland campus Muslim Student Association held a peaceful protest named the Walk for Palestine on Nov. 21. As an open to the public event, members of the Muslim Student Association as well as others in support of the freeing of Palestine chanted and walked around the inner pathway of the Richland campus for two hours.
