Best and worst of the Super Bowl commercials

Best and worst of the Super Bowl commercials

February 24, 2024
"Uber Eats" -- Despite this commercial getting backlash for using the disease of life-threatening food allergy as humor, I think it was funny regardless. It features David and Victoria Beckham, country singer Jelly Roll, halftime show performer Usher and the duo of Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer. As a die-hard “Friends” fan myself, this ad made me smile and that is all I’m looking for. Grade: A "Temu" -- Temu aired a repeated spot featuring an animated commercial depicting...

Richland’s web radio station KDUX is back

December 12, 2022

A big part of student media at Richland is the ability to allow students to take part in all aspects of media. Until recently, that has included a radio station. Unfortunately, KDUX WebRadio at Richland been down for quite some time, and many students and clubs had to put their radio productions on hold. The station suffered after the departure of long-term radio engineer Jack Fletcher during the Dallas College transition in the fall of 2021.

With the help of Piers Donahue, a former radio tech for the Air Force, “The radio station is up and running,” Donahue said.

The ‘new age media’ president: Zelenskyy

May 2, 2022

Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy is the sixth person to be president of Ukraine, and the most recent politician to find himself in the midst of a war.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent forces to take Ukraine on Feb. 24 earlier this year, only four days after the 2022 Winter Olympics concluded, in which both Russian and Ukrainian athletes competed.

Since the war began, Zelenskyy has taken to different media platforms to address the ongoing issues Ukrainians have faced in the past two months. He’s called on different international legislative bodies to intervene and send supplies.
