T-Ducks bludgeon Mountain View 118-80

Richland men’s basketball team too much for the Lions

The Richland Campus Thunderducks went against their rivals Mountain View in what started off as a friendly game and turned into a heated playoff that ended with the T-Ducks on top 118-80.

The home game was dominated by Richland. The first quarter belonged to Richland. The Mountain View Lions displayed a weak defense and a lack of communication with teammates.

In contrast, the Thunderducks defense was headstrong, and the offense was strong as well. Tre’Lin Green had the speed to break through the defense and outrun Mountain View players with constant and precise shooting, scoring 12 points, including four 3-pointers.

He had the support of his teammates Rodrick Yarbrough and Cjay Ingra, who were making rebounds. Both collected 14 rebounds each.

The T-Ducks displayed power from their forwards, mostly showcased by Barack Holland. The Lions came back fiercely in the second quarter, forcing Richland to tighten its defense.

However, the whole Mountain View team was being carried by two strong players. Doviyon Bradford scored 36 points and Louis Conner tallied seven points in support. A few other players produced for Mountain View, but not efficiently enough to catch up with the Thunderducks.

Overall, the Thunderduck’s MVPs were Tavern Washington, who not only brought the team 30 points single-handedly but was strong in attack and defense, and Zion Bourgious, who delivered 22 points.

Next up for the T-Ducks is a road game against Dallas College – Cedar Valley, which is scheduled at press time for 6 p.m. Feb. 21.
