F1 is ‘all in’ for the Las Vegas Grand Prix

Max Verstappen once again claimed the checkered flag at the Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix. F1 returned to the U.S. for their third race of the season on American soil and the penultimate race of the season.
Looking past Verstappen’s domination, the 2023 season has arguably been one of the most entertaining seasons so far.
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez claimed third place in this race, clinching second place in the drivers’ championship and not only giving Red Bull their first 1-2 standing in team history, but also obtaining the highest finishing position for a Mexican driver. The Las Vegas GP provided a lot of action for spectators, with drivers getting into the Vegas mood and willing to take riskier gambles in order to overtake other drivers throughout the race.
There were 83 overtakes throughout the race, making many skeptical fans change their stance from hating the race being in Las Vegas, to being huge fans of it.
As for the rest of the race, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc claimed second place and Carlos Sainz Jr. finished sixth, while both Mercedes drivers finished in seventh and eighth with Lewis Hamilton finishing ahead of teammate George Russell.
Lance Stroll had by far the best race of all drivers, starting in 19th and finishing fifth. McLaren had a disaster weekend with Lando Norris crashing early in the race. Teammate Oscar Piastri finished 10th and got an extra point for the fastest lap.
Mercedes and Ferrari are now separated by four points for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, meaning a lot of money is still on the line. The same can be said for Williams, Alfa Tauri, Alpha Romeo and Haas, as they all fight for seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship and only being separated by 16 points between seventh and 10th.
