Dallas College officially launched a major digital transformation by transitioning from its long-standing eConnect/Colleague system to Workday Student, a cloud-based platform that will serve as the new student information system for credit students.
With this shift, students enrolling in Fall 2025 credit courses will now register through Workday Student, a platform that offers a more user-friendly, and integrated experience, making it easier for students to manage their tasks all in one place. The existing eConnect system will still be used for Summer 2025 registration and will remain in place for Continuing Education (CE) students for the time being.
Students can now access Workday Student by logging in through My.DallasCollege.edu, where they’ll find the Workday Student icon and be prompted to complete a brief onboarding process. It’s essential that students complete these onboarding tasks within three days to avoid delays in their registration process.
The transition to Workday Student means that all credit student processes, such as course registration, viewing tuition costs and financial aid awards, checking grades, and updating personal information, will now be centralized within one platform.
Students should also be aware that, due to high traffic during the launch, their registration access might be tied to a specific time slot. This information will be visible on the student’s Workday Student dashboard.
For faculty and staff, the shift brings greater visibility and functionality.
Beginning April 1, faculty members can view their Fall 2025 course schedules and see which students have enrolled in their sections. Teams involved in scheduling, curriculum and educational partnerships can also begin using Workday Student to register dual credit students.
Though this initial launch primarily focuses on Fall 2025 registration, additional features will gradually roll out over the coming months to enhance the user experience. By July 21, students will be able to check their balances from previous semesters. Then, by Sept. 5, faculty will have the capability to submit midterm and final grades, while students will gain the ability to apply for graduation and request transcripts, streamlining academic processes for both groups.
Dallas College is offering a number of support resources to help ease the transition, which include step-by-step user guides and a dedicated Workday Student Resource Hub.
As this new system becomes the backbone of academic operations for credit students, faculty and staff alike, it is encouraged for everyone to familiarize themselves with the new tools and workflows to guarantee a smooth adoption.
