The Richland Thunderducks continue to solidify their reputation in junior college soccer, with five players earning prestigious All-America honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III.
Joseph Min, Valerio Del Mastro and Emmanuel Carmona were named First Team All-Americans, while their teammates Jose Diaz and Enrique Alvarez secured spots on the second team. Their performances this season pushed the Thunderducks to national recognition.
Min, a sophomore forward from Grand Rapids, Michigan, earned the title of Dallas Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player. His offense featured 18 goals, including six game-winners and nine assists, tallying 45 points for the season. Min recorded two hat tricks and delivered a seven-point performance against Dallas College Mountain View.
Defensive stalwart Del Mastro was named DAC Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore defender not only anchored the Thunderducks’ defense, leading to six shutouts, but also contributed offensively with five goals, including two match-winners and an assist.
Carmona, a sophomore goalkeeper from Toluca, Mexico, had a 10-save effort in a shutout against Mountain View.
Freshman forward Diaz from Houston earned the DAC Newcomer of the Year title. A First Team All-DAC selection, Diaz contributed eight goals and one assist, with two game-winning strikes. His offensive highlight came with a hat trick against Mountain View and a two-goal display in a win over Cedar Valley. Sophomore midfielder Alvarez, from Dripping Springs, also earned First Team All-DAC honors. Alvarez scored six goals and eight assists, accumulating 20 points for the season. He consistently delivered, registering a goal and assist in multiple matches.
